The Coastal Media Project 2024 Student Film Premiere

The Carsey-Wolf Center proudly presents the premiere of the 2024 Coastal Media Project student films. The Coastal Media Project is a nine-week intensive environmental media production and documentary studies program. Working in teams, students from a wide range of backgrounds collaborate to produce short films that tell vital and timely stories about the coastal environment.

Centuries ago, the people of the densely populated quwa’ island once thrived where the Santa Barbara Airport and the Goleta Sanitary District now stand. This film delves into the history of the Goleta Slough and the possibilities for reviving this long-ignored Chumash territory.
